This mas­sive home, an incred­i­ble mix of tra­di­tion­al styling and mod­ern tech­nol­o­gy, includes hand-carved mar­ble man­tles, a 1,500-bottle brick wine cel­lar, five wood-burn­ing fire­places, a real stone bar with a 4” thick wal­nut book­end bar­top, and a cus­tom pyra­mid sky­light in the roof above the mas­ter bed­room.

The own­er of this home was attract­ed to Fox Blocks because of its ener­gy effi­cien­cy.

Hilliard Bruce Win­ery was award­ed LEED Sil­ver Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion by the US Build­ing Coun­cil.

Cost effec­tive con­struc­tion was pos­si­ble because of the insu­lat­ing qual­i­ties of the Fox Blocks sys­tem.

The project is a key fea­ture and gath­er­ing place in a small city that is plan­ning sub­stan­tial city-wide rede­vel­op­ment. The new 11-screen the­ater is a focal point of this effort and has intro­duced the region to ICF and the ben­e­fits of build­ing with this method.

The build­ing fea­tures an impres­sive mix of tall wall ICF, steel, and glaz­ing.

After los­ing their home to a fire in 2017, the project own­ers aimed to build a replace­ment that was sim­i­lar in design but stronger and more fire-resis­tant. The fire had exten­sive­ly dam­aged the site, which neces­si­tat­ed a com­plete demo­li­tion of the old struc­ture, includ­ing the for­mer base­ment, pri­or to the con­struc­tion of the new ICF home.
