This massive home, an incredible mix of traditional styling and modern technology, includes hand-carved marble mantles, a 1,500-bottle brick wine cellar, five wood-burning fireplaces, a real stone bar with a 4” thick walnut bookend bartop, and a custom pyramid skylight in the roof above the master bedroom.
The design includes 30 45-degree corners and 23 90-degree corners, adding complexity to the build. Additionally, there are six custom arches that were made with ICF: Four 12-foot-wide garage doors and two arches for a tunnel that allows cars to drive through the house to access the rear entry garage. For all the arches and turrets, many custom braces were made to support the ICF blocks in place, and the crews used a conveyor for the concrete.
The home was built at an extremely high level of craftsmanship. Helix micro steel rebar was mixed into the concrete and was used in conjunction with rebar reinforcement to create a home as strong as a bunker. Due to the addition of Helix micro steel rebar and the height of the house, concrete was conveyored into the Fox Blocks forms.
The home has been called the most unique, high-end home in the township, and security gates are currently under construction, as visitors come down the driveway daily to view the house. People are amazed at the thickness of the walls and depth of window sills (interior and exterior) due to the use of Fox Blocks and stone exterior veneer. And local custom homebuilders have expressed interest in the use of Fox Blocks on their next high-end custom home.
