The own­ers’ for­mer home, destroyed by Hur­ri­cane Har­vey, was the touch­stone for fam­i­ly gath­er­ings for near­ly two decades, and its loss was dev­as­tat­ing for the fam­i­ly.

Old-World Style Home and Vine­yard Prove ICF Resi­lence. Noble mate­ri­als like cus­tom heavy-tim­ber struc­tur­al truss­es, rafter tails, and out­look­ers give the home a nat­ur­al ranch look, while hand-cut, local­ly sourced, nat­ur­al stone accents pro­vide a sol­id foot­ing and time­less dura­bil­i­ty.

After los­ing their home to a fire in 2017, the project own­ers aimed to build a replace­ment that was sim­i­lar in design but stronger and more fire-resis­tant. The fire had exten­sive­ly dam­aged the site, which neces­si­tat­ed a com­plete demo­li­tion of the old struc­ture, includ­ing the for­mer base­ment, pri­or to the con­struc­tion of the new ICF home.

The con­trac­tor need­ed a build­ing solu­tion that would pro­vide a sus­tain­able devel­op­ment that would stim­u­late the local econ­o­my and pre­serve the his­toric feel of the com­mu­ni­ty. In addi­tion to the envi­ron­men­tal con­sid­er­a­tions, the com­mit­ment to pri­vate, ener­gy effi­cient units was a sell­ing point of build­ing with Fox Blocks ICF.

A key design ele­ment of this school was sus­tain­abil­i­ty.

Fox Blocks con­tributed to a fam­i­ly prop­er­ty along the Fish Riv­er near the Alaba­ma Gulf Coast.

This eco-friend­ly project demon­strates the mul­ti­ple green con­struc­tion meth­ods avail­able.

In order to max­i­mize the avail­able project foot­print and achieve the beau­ti­ful mediter­ranean-inspired look, the design required com­plex, tight-radius cor­ners and open­ings.

Fox Blocks helped meet these needs and chal­lenges of this pub­lic project serv­ing the entire Phoenix met­ro­pol­i­tan area.
