HERS Index vs Energy Star
Energy efficiency in homes is vital for both economic and environmental reasons, which is why builders have robust tools like the HERS Index and Energy Star ratings to gauge and improve the energy performance of buildings.

WINTERSET COMMUNITY CHURCH ADDITION
Winterset Community Church wanted a larger gathering space for the local community, so they decided to add a gymnasium to their worship building. The addition had to be built quickly while the church was still in use, blend in seamlessly with the existing structure, and offer high noise protection between the church and the gymnasium.
New Training for the Fox Block Interlock
We have found it to be a waste of time and energy to attempt to offset or stagger the block as in the photo to the left. By creating a vertical stacked seam you will be more accurate with the job dimensions and will increase your profit by gaining efficiency.

LUXE REEL THEATER
The project is a key feature and gathering place in a small city that is planning substantial city-wide redevelopment. The new 11-screen theater is a focal point of this effort and has introduced the region to ICF and the benefits of building with this method.
Do ICFs require a special concrete mix design?
The concrete is normal strength, minimum 2500 psi (20 MPa) per building codes. The mix design specifies a smaller aggregate and higher slump than concrete typically used for floors. Most Ready-Mix suppliers are familiar with an ICF concrete mix design.
What is EPS made from?
Polystyrene is virgin material, manufactured from petroleum. Polystyrene beads are expanded with steam heat to be up to 40 times their original volume and then the expanded beads are molded again by steam heat into 258″ rigid insulation panels to create a Fox Blocks ICF.

TWO ON FIRST TERRACED HOUSE
Old Town Scottsdale is a historic downtown area, once known for cowboy-Western shops and art galleries, that is now experiencing a remodernization and revitalization. In a class of its own, this multimillion-dollar, modern two-home masterpiece complements the nearby downtown and arts district. These luxury walk-ups pay homage to early urban Mediterranean architecture with all the sophistication of the 21st century.

CINEPOLIS THEATER

How do you control voids in the wall?
The concrete mix is a high slump 5″- 6.5″ (125 mm – 165 mm) with a smaller aggregate size so the concrete flows easily. The person in charge of placing the concrete should watch the concrete flow throughout the whole wall to ensure there are no void pockets. Internal vibrating provides good consolidation, eliminating voids.
