Jan­u­ary through April is when we plant our seeds for the year by dis­play­ing our prod­uct for the mar­ket in trade shows. I’ve par­tic­i­pat­ed in these trade shows for 17 years now in the ICF indus­try and it has always been the same old thing, but this year was notably dif­fer­ent.

The project is a key fea­ture and gath­er­ing place in a small city that is plan­ning sub­stan­tial city-wide rede­vel­op­ment. The new 11-screen the­ater is a focal point of this effort and has intro­duced the region to ICF and the ben­e­fits of build­ing with this method.

Over the past few years devel­op­ers have observed that LEED reg­is­tered build­ings lease more quick­ly and with rent pre­mi­ums of up to 30%.

Build­ing a hos­pi­tal requires detailed plan­ning, inte­grat­ed design and coor­di­na­tion across all plan­ning stages, mate­r­i­al selec­tion, con­struc­tion and health­care oper­a­tions.

The design team at SMP Archi­tec­ture want­ed to cre­ate a safe and secure, sus­tain­able struc­ture with low main­te­nance costs for the own­ers.

The for­ward-think­ing police depart­ment in Saugeen Shores want­ed a bul­let- proof, state-of-the-art sta­tion. The design was devel­oped with expan­sion in mind so the head­quar­ters can grow with the neigh­bor­hoods that the depart­ment serves.
