Flood­ing is relent­less. It destroys homes, dis­places fam­i­lies, and leaves busi­ness­es in ruins.

We’ve com­piled a list of zero-ener­gy homes that incor­po­rate sus­tain­able con­struc­tion into the build­ing process. The results are 5 facil­i­ties that prove zero net ener­gy can be achieved with care­ful plan­ning and appro­pri­ate imple­men­ta­tion.

The own­ers want­ed an ener­gy-effi­cient facil­i­ty where they could pro­vide inde­pen­dent liv­ing, pal­lia­tive, and end-of-life care in Ontario, Cana­da.

This build gave 30 high school stu­dents hands-on expe­ri­ence build­ing a home with Fox Blocks ICF from the ground up.

The project is a key fea­ture and gath­er­ing place in a small city that is plan­ning sub­stan­tial city-wide rede­vel­op­ment. The new 11-screen the­ater is a focal point of this effort and has intro­duced the region to ICF and the ben­e­fits of build­ing with this method.

In order to max­i­mize the avail­able project foot­print and achieve the beau­ti­ful mediter­ranean-inspired look, the design required com­plex, tight-radius cor­ners and open­ings.

The vision of Red Oak Ele­men­tary is to be the mod­el of aca­d­e­m­ic excel­lence.

We are excit­ed to announce that Fox Blocks is now a mem­ber of the Nation­al Ready Mix Con­crete Asso­ci­a­tion (NRM­CA).

This mas­sive estate fea­tures 7,000 square feet of liv­ing space and anoth­er 6,000 square feet of decks, porch­es, lofts, and more. To help achieve the rus­tic-con­tem­po­rary look of the home, amaz­ing ICF gables were used to cre­ate the day­light win­dows that pro­vide a beau­ti­ful view of the sur­round­ing for­est.

In 2019, con­struc­tion indus­try trends wel­come advance­ments in build­ing meth­ods and mate­ri­als; how­ev­er, the indus­try still strug­gles with ongo­ing labor short­ages.
