How to Build Ener­gy-Effi­cient Home in Texas: Things to Con­sid­er

School design has entered a new era. Safe­ty now extends beyond code min­i­mums and evac­u­a­tion plans to the very walls that pro­tect stu­dents and staff.

This build gave 30 high school stu­dents hands-on expe­ri­ence build­ing a home with Fox Blocks ICF from the ground up.

Three sus­tain­able build­ing mate­ri­als for 2019 that stand out are the TRUE­GRID® Per­me­able Pavers, Fox Blocks and Bam­boo.

After los­ing their home to a fire in 2017, the project own­ers aimed to build a replace­ment that was sim­i­lar in design but stronger and more fire-resis­tant. The fire had exten­sive­ly dam­aged the site, which neces­si­tat­ed a com­plete demo­li­tion of the old struc­ture, includ­ing the for­mer base­ment, pri­or to the con­struc­tion of the new ICF home.
