Fox Blocks ICF offered an ener­gy-effi­cient solu­tion for a build­ing full of pres­sur­ized mois­ture because mois­ture does not affect the ICF, even over the long term. Pota­to stor­age is at a con­stant 100% rel­a­tive humid­i­ty and 1.5 cfm pres­sure, which caus­es oth­er forms of con­struc­tion to go through com­plex detail­ing to keep mois­ture out of the wall cav­i­ty.

This high-end, mul­ti-build­ing, retail plaza was the first of its kind in the world of ICF con­struc­tion.

Fox Blocks Esti­ma­tor PRO4 is now LIVE and avail­able to down­load and use for project take offs and esti­mates! Esti­mate ICF quan­ti­ties includ­ing spe­cial­ty blocks, open­ing mate­r­i­al, ancil­lary prod­ucts, lin­eal feet of rebar, vol­ume of con­crete and man hours for a spe­cif­ic job.

This unique air hangar is the first of its kind in terms of ICF appli­ca­tions. The design of this build­ing was not intend­ed to stand out, but to con­form and fit its envi­ron­ment. With beau­ti­ful wood and stonework exte­ri­or fin­ish­es and the steep rake of the roof down to the embank­ment in which the hangar is nes­tled, the build­ing ele­gant­ly blends into the beau­ti­ful Ida­ho sur­round­ings with­out being obtru­sive.

Depend­ing on the forms’ size and the con­crete core width, the con­crete aggre­gate size and slump should be adjust­ed accord­ing­ly. The ulti­mate goal is to get the cor­rect com­pres­sive strength for the con­crete as spec­i­fied.

The own­ers’ for­mer home, destroyed by Hur­ri­cane Har­vey, was the touch­stone for fam­i­ly gath­er­ings for near­ly two decades, and its loss was dev­as­tat­ing for the fam­i­ly.

The own­ers want­ed an afford­able cus­tom home that could with­stand Chesa­peake Bay weath­er.

After los­ing their home to a fire in 2017, the project own­ers aimed to build a replace­ment that was sim­i­lar in design but stronger and more fire-resis­tant. The fire had exten­sive­ly dam­aged the site, which neces­si­tat­ed a com­plete demo­li­tion of the old struc­ture, includ­ing the for­mer base­ment, pri­or to the con­struc­tion of the new ICF home.
