The Krafthaus home was built in the plains of Black For­est, Col­orado which meant a high water table (4’ below grade), poor soil qual­i­ty, and weath­er con­di­tions that includ­ed high wind gusts and snow drifts up to 5 feet tall.

Con­crete mason­ry units (CMU) and insu­lat­ed con­crete form (ICF) walls have sev­er­al fea­tures in com­mon: ener­gy-effi­cien­cy, dura­bil­i­ty, and good indoor envi­ron­men­tal qual­i­ty (IEQ). How­ev­er, ICF is quick­er and eas­i­er to install com­pared to CMU, which saves time and mon­ey.

This design is now the new pro­to­type for future Clarksville-Mont­gomery Coun­ty ele­men­tary schools.

Con­crete house con­struc­tion pro­vides home­own­ers with many ben­e­fits, includ­ing ener­gy-effi­cien­cy, dura­bil­i­ty, and low-main­te­nance.

It is not an over­state­ment to say that The Shore Road Project is the own­ers’ dream home.

Fire Sta­tion 107 has been fea­tured in sev­er­al mag­a­zine arti­cles won an ICF builder award and an award from Sta­tion Style mag­a­zine.

As with all movie stu­dio projects, sched­ule was a crit­i­cal ele­ment for this film pro­duc­tion facil­i­ty.
