Cornerstone Custom Construction of Ham Lake, MN (Minneapolis/St. Paul) is our featured contractor of the month. Cornerstone has been building with ICF's since 1998 and are a Concrete Homes Specialist in the state of Minnesota. They have built many residential homes and commercial projects with ICF's in the past 10 years. Owner/President, Kelly Hemp has an experienced staff of Ken Downey, Project Manager, Micah Vainikka, Project Coordinator, and Jon Fleck, ICF Sales Consultant. They are currently building a home which hopes to achieve LEED Gold Certification, the first of its kind in Minnesota.
Micah says "The teeth are the strongest I have ever worked with. They don't break off when you handle them. The 2 5/8" foam thickness leads to a lot less bracing and worry about random blowouts. Fox Blocks don't have a bevel on the seam edge between courses so they don't separate during a pour. Also, the ties are thicker plastic than most other blocks, so screws stay fastened great." Micah also adds "The 8" on center spacing of ties are very familiar to all our trades, instead of 6" on center. The ties are reinforced better than any others so nothing breaks when you are transporting or pouring. And they are much less expensive than any other block so we get more jobs!"
